Our Story

Founded in 1979, the Quaker Notes are the first a cappella group to be established on Penn's campus. For over 40 years, the all-female-identifying Qnotes members have brought contemporary music to Penn and beyond.

Every year, we have a Fall and Spring semester show while also performing at gigs. Our performances range from charity fundraisers, singing the National Anthem at sports events, private parties to university events. We also have had the amazing opportunity to open for Pentatonix in 2018 and 2019. We regularly return to NYC to open for the Radio City Rockettes at their Christmas Spectacular and also have sang at Penn's Carnegie Hall event.

Our style consists of contemporary music from all genres. We compose and perform all of our own arrangements, continuously pushing the limits of our creativity.

But if you ask anyone in the group, they would tell you that Quaker Notes is so much more than the music we create. It's an amazing group of women creating friendships and memories to last a lifetime.

Our Family

The Quaker Notes are about way more than sick rhythms, snazzy chords, and stellar vocals. We are also best friends! We love each other in and outside of rehearsals and performances, and become super close through our retreats, gigs, hanging out, and all the laughs and fun memories we share
